Do I need to make a reservation for a child?
You need to make a reservation for your child when he/she occupies a seat, or when he/she use overnight buses.
How much is child fare?
Child fare is half the adult fare (rounded up to the nearest 10 yen). Child fare applies to elementary school children (6 years old to 12 years old). Basically, *”Infant” and *”Baby” are free of charge. But, in some cases, infants and babies will be charged child fare. *Infant: 1 year old to 6 years old except for elementary school students *Baby: younger than 1 year old
Can I eat and drink on the bus?
Please refrain from eating on the bus. Drinks except alcohol are possible.
Can I bring large baggage on board? What are the baggage regulations?
We would ask you to put large baggage (ex. suitcases, skis, snowboards, etc.) into the trunk. Passengers are prohibited from bringing items that may obstruct the aisles, exits or emergency exits, items that may cause inconvenience to other passengers, or items that may significantly dirty the inside of the buses. We are not responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of personal belongings. If you use a wheelchair or a baby stroller, please use a foldable one. Depending on the size of your personal belongings, an additional fee may be charged. The fee for personal belongings is half the adult fare (up to a maximum of 200 yen). Coin lockers are available at Yamagata Station, Yamako Building Bus Terminal, and Zao Onsen Bus Terminal. We would appreciate your cooperation in not occupying seats with your luggage, as we would like to accommodate as many passengers as possible.
Do the buses have a restroom on board?
The following highway buses have a restroom. 1)Sendai - Sakata Line 2)Yamagata - Niigata Line 3)Shinjo, Yamagata – Tokyo Line
Where can I reserve or purchase bus tickets?
You can make reservation and purchase tickets on websites or at our sales window.
How many days in advance can I make a reservation?
You can book a ticket from one month before the departure date.
What is the age classification for adults and children?
Junior high school students and above are charged adult fare. Elementary school students (6 years old to 12 years old) are charged child fare.
Is there a deadline for picking up or purchasing reserved tickets?
You need to pick up or purchase reserved tickets no later than you use the bus.
Where can I make payment for my reservation?
You can pay at the YAMAKO Building Bus Information Center or the Yamakobus Yamagata Station Information Center.
Can I get a refund for my bus ticket?
You can get a refund before the bus departs from the first bus stop. If the bus departs, we do not make any refunds.
Can I change my reservation before paying the fare?
Yes. Please modify your reservation on websites.
Can I make changes to my reservation after purchasing a ticket?
You can make changes. The handing fee is 100 yen per ticket.
What if I lose my ticket or forget it at home?
Please purchase tickets again. We do not reissue the ticket.
Will buses operate in the event of typhoons or heavy snow?
Some buses might be suspended due to typhoons or heavy snow. So please check the operation information.
